The Prince, Princess, and Dragon

When will this story end?  It has been going on for weeks!  Let me explain.  We have Netflix and have been renting the various Disney movies for Buggy.  So far she's seen Aladdin, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty (her favorite), Ice Age, and Fox and the Hound.  She's into everything princess and toy story right now.

I was unloading the dishwasher and we were talking about favorite colors.  She told me hers was pink and asked me what mine was.  I told her that I have two.  I really like orange and green.  She told me that I liked orange the best.  :)  Then she went on to tell me that she likes pink because it's a "girl" color, and orange was a "boy" color.  (Mind you, she'll only be 3 in a few weeks!)  I tried my best to explain that people can like any color they want to, that there are no "boy or girl" colors.  I gave a few examples of people that like colors that aren't stereotypical.  Anyway, in our house, for the last two weeks I have been a Princess.  Buggy is a prince, and daddy is a dragon.  It was fun for the first two days.  Now, I can't even talk to daddy without calling him dragon, or talk about him to other people unless I refer to him as dragon.  Buggy, excuse me, prince takes this very serious.  (I wonder if she continues this game at school, or if it stops at the doors.)  Before this she would pretend to be a mermaid or Sleeping Beauty, but just for a day.  We'd have to make sure to tell the mermaid (or who ever she was) good night and call her by that name.  We have never had the whole family be something for so long.

I asked her last night after supper when I could be mommy again.  That I missed being mommy and I want daddy back too.  Buggy just looked at me like I was crazy.  She protested that I wasn't mommy and was in fact a princess.  But, that I could be mommy in the kitchen when I make supper.

Has any of this happen to any of you?  What did you do?  I just want the "game" to end and be mommy, Buggy, and daddy again.  Any ideas?

Not the week I wanted

This week was staring out great!  Monday Buggy went off to school, I had my muffin tin all done, and even make leg warmers.  Monday night I was hit with a bug.  Tuesday I spent most of the time on cold meds and laying on the couch.  I was so thankful hubby came home early to help take care of the kids and cook supper, because there is no way I could have done any of that!  I tried to wash my hands and stay away from the kids as much as I could, but Buggy was sick the next day!  She was so upset that she couldn't go to school (remember those days of wanting to go?).  After every nose blow, she'd tell me how tissues make her feel better and she can go to school now.  Poor thing.  She just wanted to go play with her friends.  I had to explain that if she went she'd get all of her friends sick, so it was best to stay at home and go next week.  She didn't like that at all.  She continued to tell me how she was better after every time she blew her nose for the rest of the day.  Then Thursday came.  I got a call from my sister that my mom was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  I tried and tried to get a hold of her, and nothing.  I called the hospital and found out she was in the ICU.  Are you kidding me?!?  What is going on here.  So I called and talked to her, the doc,my sister, my aunt ,and uncle. It felt like I spent most of the day on the phone.  (Buggy thought that too, because when I was off the phone for good, she picked up her phone and started to play with it.  She made sure to come tell me that she was on the phone and I needed to be quiet.  She called a lot of people.)  Turns out my mom was very dehydrated and had an extremely low blood pressure.  She also has a kink in her stomach.  This could be from the first surgery, or the cancer is growing and moving things around.  Let's hope for the first!!!  The low blood pressure could mean an infection so she's on antibiotics for that.  Her vitals are up and looking better, but she continues to stay in ICU until she's more stable.  As I sit here and write this at 4:45 a.m., I also want you to know that Buggy woke up screaming in her sleep.  Hubby and Punkie (our dog) is sleeping with her now.  I couldn't go back to sleep because of all the crazy added stress from earlier.  I have to wake hubby up in 30 min to get ready for work.  I'm sure this is going to be a very long day.  But hopefully a good day at that.

I'm sorry to my readers that I haven't gotten back to.  Once the girls are down for an afternoon nap I am hoping to find some computer time.  It's nice to just relax and catch up with my readers and the many other blogs I follow.  Hope you have a great Friday and please, please, please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers.

Here they are!

This is what I have been busy doing this morning and afternoon.  It was hard to find time today.  Buggy had school and Miss Crazy O was crazy.  :)  She's a little stuffed up and is needing more mommy time than usual.

I love these leg warmers!  They are super easy to make, and I'm so in love with them.  I can't wait to make some more this weekend.

Buggy was so happy to have some new ones to add to her collection that she went outside wearing them.  Mind you, it's 80 today.  Then, she insisted on taking her afternoon nap in them.  She's so silly.  :)

Muffin Tin Monday 9/20/2010

Good afternoon!  I have been super busy this morning.  I know it's a little late for this post, but I just had to share.  Our theme was shapes.  :)

Free Kashi Snack

Head over to Kashi for their snack drive.  You pick a snack that you would normally eat, and trade it in for a healthier alternative.  If you skip that process you can pick a snack from one of the choices.  The choices are a TLC Ripe Strawberry Cereal Bar, TLC Trail Mix Granola Bar, or TLC Original 7 Grain Crackers.  I'm getting the TLC Trail Mix Granola Bar.  Your snack will come in the mail.  It's that simple!  Thanks Kashi.

Blog spotlight

Thanks to my friend Jennie at SweepTight, I'm in her blog spotlight.  :)  Please stop by her blog and take a moment to read it.   I also made comment about my two favorite blogs to read.  I love them and highly recommend stopping by.  They are CrazyHouse and Pink and Green Mamma .

Hope you are all having a great Thursday like I am!  Don't forget to set your DVR's for the Oprah show (Friday 17, 2010).

Wednesday Madness

Oh my goodness!  Yesterday Buggy went to school for the full time (9:15-11:45).  After Miss Crazy O and I took her we ran over to a preview class for Musikgarten.  Buggy has participated in this program for years, and now it's Miss Crazy O's turn.  (We have been really happy with this program and highly recommend it! They have classes from infant all the way to adult.)  After class I had to run home and change.  O had spit up all during class and needed to be chanced 3 times!  I smelled so bad I needed to change before we went to pick Buggy up from school.  O slept for 30 min before we had to go get her sister.  After we were all home and fed, the girls have naps.  Well, not yesterday!  Buggy played during her nap.  :(  I had to go in several times to remind her this was nap time and not play time.

Finally after many hours of play I had Buggy just come out of her room.  She was obviously not going to nap.  She had a melt down and I told her to calm down/take a chill pill.  I should have never said that because the next thing you know, she's crying because she doesn't have a chill pill.  She really wanted one and this quickly turned into a fit (because of not having a nap).  I tried to tell her that they aren't real, that's just something people say when you need to calm down.  (I will never use this phrase with her again!)  Being tired and mad, she went into her room without a chill pill.

When hubby came home we decided to treat ourselves after a hectic day to dinner out.  Yay!  No cooking or dishes to do.  :)  He really wanted to try Fuddruckers.  I have eaten there a few times in high school, but he has never been.  We drove there to only find they went out of business.  :(  Man!  We drove around the area and found Texas Road House.  We have never been there and decided to give it a try.  Yumm!  We were so impressed.  They have these amazing bread baskets with cinnamon butter they give you.  Not to mention the peanuts too!  :)  How fun was this place going to be.  You can even pick your own steak, or order something off of the menu.  To our pleasant surprise, happy hour is every Monday - Friday from 4-7!  I had a margarita for only $3!  :)  It was so good.  After ordering our food, we were pretty much full.  This place has not only amazing food, but also great service!  This is going to be our new date night spot.

I was taking pics with my camera when the button you push to take pics fell off!  Oh my goodness---now it looks like I will be getting a new one.  I loved my pink camera!  It wasn't the best, but was better than most.  I'm hoping this weekend we can go look at what's out there and do a little research.  (For those of you that don't know my hubby, he's very extreme.  He likes to have the best, fastest, craziest things for a great price!  He'll do research on anything before we buy it and find it at a great price!)

Oprah and Tofu

Just a reminder that the Oprah show my sister and mom went to is going to be on Friday!  :)  I already have my DVR set up to record.  I can't wait!

Another note, I made something new tonight.  I had some tofu and added it to our mushroom alfredo and broccoli tonight.  After we prayed, Buggy dove right into the tofu.  She picked out all of the little cubes and ate them first.  When she was done she said "May I have some more cofu?".  (It was hard not to laugh at her.)  Hubby told her she had to eat her broccoli before she could get more.  By the time the broccoli was almost all done, she was too full.  She's already asked for "cofu" for lunch after school.  :)  She's so silly!

Good Morning Monday!

So, I thought I'd be able to catch up on my blog this weekend.  We didn't really have any big plans. We were going to help clean Buggy's playground at school, and Sunday school started.  That was it.

Early Saturday morning, before breakfast, Buggy got sick.  Two times.  What a horrible start to the weekend.  When it happened, I thought the bug she had would last at least the whole weekend.  I ran to the store to get her some "special fluids" for her tummy.  By the time I got home from the store I could tell that the bug wasn't going to last as long as I thought.  Buggy was begging for lunch and we decided to give her the B.R.A.T (bananas, rice, apples, toast) diet.  She ate.  To her surprise she said "I didn't spit up!".  After lunch came a long 4 hour nap.  She was good to go!  :)  I felt so lucky that this "bug" was fairly nice.  Or so I thought.

Sunday morning came too quickly.  Early that morning my hubby was sick.  Ugh!  At first I thought about when this lovely little bug was going to catch up with me and Miss Crazy O.  I don't have time for such things.  Hubby was feeling better by church time so we all went to church.  We drove separate cars because he was picking up 2 students (from a college up the road) to bring to church.  I was so worried that Miss Crazy O was going to get it next I wasn't really able to concentrate much on anything else.  After the service Hubby met me in the nursery to tell me he'd meet me at home.  He asked if I needed help with anything.  I handed him Buggy's red busy bag and he was off.  Before I knew it I was searching for my keys and had no idea where I had put them.  I took everything out of the diaper bag twice.  I retraced all of my steps.....and, nothing!  :(  What was I going to do?  It was drizzling outside.  Not too cool and pretty warm.  It wasn't till the girls' babysitter mentioned that maybe the keys were in the red bag I gave hubby.  Yup, that was it!  He had my keys.  So, we walked home in the drizzle.  It wasn't the Sunday I thought I should be having.  But we made do.

After getting bills ready, food shopping, and some laundry done I relaxed the only way I know how on a Sunday.  I watched the Packers win 27-20!  Go pack go!  This was the perfect ending to a hectic weekend.  Not at all how I had planed in my head, but a pretty good one.

Oprah

My mom and sister went to the Oprah taping yesterday.  :)  WOW!  Oprah really helped my sister!  The show will air a week from today.  My sister said that they were sitting in the front row.  I don't want to give too many details, but my sister doesn't have to worry about a honeymoon, or a dress.  Yup, that's right.  Oprah gave 50 brides dresses and honeymoons.  She also got a bunch of goodies, but you'll have to watch the show to find out.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday!  My hubby just made Sailor of the Quarter.  We are so proud of him.  My mom is getting her second chemo treatment today.  The girls and I have some late birthday gifts to send out and some food shopping to do later today.  Hope you have a great weekend!  I'm looking forward to some time to catch up on my blog.

Wordless Wednesday Link Up

Link up your Wordless Wednesday below.  You don't have to follow or comment, but appreciate either. :)

What would you do?

We have started to think/plan Buggy's 3rd birthday party. Since she has a late birthday, she is in the 2 year old class at school. I wanted to have a mermaid party for her. She's very into that right now. I thought about inviting the little girls from her class (3 of them), a few from church, and some other friends. Thing is, I'm thinking some of the other kids might be too little to do all I had planed. I'm thinking now we can have everyone over for ice cream, bounce house and gifts. School is just starting and I don't know how other parents will feel about getting birthday invites already (and still maybe a bit early for the younger ones). I'm stuck! Should we just do a family one with X (cousin), or have her mermaid party with her little girl friends. A third choice is to just invite the friends she already has and come up with a new theme. What would you do?

Mom Update

My mom is back home after being in the hospital for a few days.  She had to get some fluids and get her blood sugar under control.  Her first chemo (that was a couple of weeks ago) made her pretty sick.  She's got that under control better, and is ready for her second treatment this Friday.

My mom and sister are going to be in the Oprah show this Thursday.  I can't wait to hear when the show will air.  My sister is engaged to a fireman (us girls love men in uniform..lol) and wanted to get married in the Fall of 2011.  Since mom isn't working, and my sister has put her job on hold, there aren't many funds coming in to support the wedding planning right now.  My sister's best friend is also engaged to be married next year.  My sister's friend's mom wrote to Oprah about the situation, and they want them to come to this Thursday's taping.  WOW!  I don't want to be greedy/selfish, but I'm hoping this is the bridal show and Oprah will help.  :)  Wouldn't that be something.  But if not, it is still very awesome that they (all 4 of them) are going to the show.

My mom has a busy week, and I hope she has a great one!

End Of Summer

We went to visit the in-laws this last week.  Our whole family had such a great time.  Not only did the girls get to see their grandparents, but we were also lucky enough to spend the time with Hubby's sister's family.  :)  So there were 6 adults, 4 kids, and 6 dogs all in one house!

It was so funny to see the 4 cousins play (even if they are all diff ages).  They had such a great time swimming, playing, fishing, and goofing around.  X (our nephew) is great with Buggy and Crazy O!  He took the time out to care/play with both.  He has a "magic trick" he loves to perform.  He takes one of the girls (either his sister (Fashionista) or Buggy) and puts them in a large box.  X turns the box around (so they can sneak out) and turns it back around to us---only for us to find that there is nobody in the box.  :)  Very cute trick.

Fashionista and Buggy were connected at the hip.  They both wanted to be/do what the other was doing.  Sharing toys (you know the other person always has the better ones!), swimming, dancing, playing, holding hands, swinging, and getting wagon rides were just a few of the things they did.

After such a nice trip we are now taking the weekend easy.  Hubby is back to work Tuesday, and Buggy will start her first day of school on Wednesday.  The summer is over and time to get into fall.  Time to plan a birthday party and get our Christmas shopping done before October comes and goes.  Fall is my favorite time of the year and I'm ready and waiting to embrace it.  :)

When the going gets though, the though get going!

As I am sitting her writing this, my mom is getting her first chemo treatment.  :)  We have been waiting for this day for such a long time.  She is ready to fight and wants to get this cancer out of her body.  For those who don't know, the doctors can't really tell what kind of cancer she has.  They know she has it on her stomach and pancreas.  They don't know where it started, just that it has spread.  In two months they will do another scan and see what the cancer is going.  Hopefully it will be smaller or just plain gone!  Treatments will be every two weeks.

I'm so happy for her and scared for what's ahead!  I'm so happy we can start this fight and give it all we have.  Buggy is currently working on a new card to send her grandma.  :)  I pray that someone up above is keeping an eye on her and will help her though this tough journey.  Thinking of you mom!  Good luck today!

Back to school

I've been reading and looking at the pictures people are posting about their little ones going back to school.  Our oldest will be starting preschool in a few weeks.  It's hard to believe that she's big enough and ready to take this next step in her little life.  There really isn't a whole lot to get ready for preschool.  I took her school shoe shopping and let her pick out 2 pairs of shoes.  A pair of tennis shoes (pink and white) and a dress pair (nothing but pink sparkles all over!).  She's so excited to wear them.  She's not really ready for school clothes shopping.  We have added some needed pieces, but she'll just be playing and hasn't really hit a big growth spurt.  (As I'm saying this, I'm sure she will now.)  We've talked about going to school and having friends.  She already has her birthday party planed and is just ever so excited about the whole thing.

Wordless Wednesday

Tuesday Blog Hop

Goo

This is the best stuff ever.  It kept Buggy busy for over 45 min.  She loved it and wanted to make more after her nap.  I made it for her in a round cake pan for two reasons.  One, it was all contained in one area.  Two, the pan was shallow enough for her to sit in her booster seat and still have access to the goo.  Clean up is too easy.  All you need is a wet washcloth to wipe up anything that "spilled" out of the cake pan.  It's fun to play with.  If you hit it or adjetate it with quick movements you can't push through it.  However, if you use slow movements it's like slime.  I was able to pick up a solid piece and ooze it on Buggy's hands.  She loved it!  I saw a segment on Ellen about this and wanted to try it out for our self.  I'm so happy we did.  :)  Here's how you make it.

GOO
1 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup of water
food coloring (to color the goo if wanted)

If you are going to make yours a color, put the food coloring in the water.  Then just mix the cornstarch and water.

Diaper Diary Day 1

As soon as Crazy O woke up I just went with it and put on her first cloth diaper.  I thought I'd try and keep the first one easy and go with an all in one (AIO).  I used a blue Thirsty size x-small.  All I had to do was just put it on and we were off.

It wasn't as hard as I thought.  We were golden!  I can do this, and it's pretty easy.  It was time to put her down for her nap, and I made sure she hadn't gone.  She didn't so I kept this one on.  :)  A few hours passed and her morning nap was over.  I was so excited to go get her and see how well we had done.  To my surprise, the diaper was wet!  The whole thing.  I just wanted to cry.  I wasn't sure what I had done wrong.  I really want this to work.  I changed her and all of her bedding.  Then I called my friend to ask why the diaper was wet on the outside too.  Maybe I was to use a liner with this one.  I thought I had done everything correctly.  In fact, I did.  My friend assured me that it wasn't my fault, but Crazy O.  She had peed more than I thought she would.  Next time we'd just have to use an extra liner.  Sounds easy enough, so we went on our day in cloth.

I went about my day, and it really didn't bother me like it did the day before.  I don't know why people make such a big deal about cloth or disposable.  To each his own.  Whatever works for you works.  :)  The second diaper I used I put on too tight.  Poor Miss Crazy O had elastic marks on her little legs and back.  The third one was perfect!  Not too tight, didn't leak and was just great.  It was a Bumgenius.  I just love these!  Pocket Diapers are the way to go.  I really loved this one.  Third times the charm.  Yay us.

Hubby came home from work and sent me out for a few hours (how sweet of him!).  I came home to find Crazy O in a disposable.  He just laughed and told me that he didn't know how to put them on or work them.  LOL!  Not sure if he's really on board with this, or if he just wants to support me.  Only time will tell.

Cloth Diaper Diary

I have been interested in cloth diapers since Buggy was in diapers, but never got around to getting them and trying them out.  I have a couple of really good friends who use them and love them.  I have been reading more and more about how people just love them.  They say it's not as hard as one would think.  After staying up all night talking to my friend about her experiences and knowledge, my friend from church brought some with her today to show me a small portion of her stash.  (This small portion was over 15/20, so I can just imagine how wonderful her stash really is!)  After having a little show and tell with hubby listening (I think he was), we have decided to try them out.  My friend was so awesome that she is letting me try out some of the different kinds!  She gave me a big bag of them to try out.  This is just amazing that anyone would let me use their diapers for a week.  I'm so excited!

After church we came home and I put the bag up on the table.  I just stared at it wondering what this journey was going to be like.  I know that it will be a little different in the beginning, but I'm really very excited to try them all out and get some of my very own.  After all of my research I'm still a little nervous to do this.  I don't want to ruin her diapers, and I just want everything to work out.  :)  I want Little Miss  Crazy O (LMCO) to love them how I love them.  I'm very lucky to have two great people to help me through this journey and a supportive hubby on board.  :)

Even though I'm so very excited about this trial, I just was too nervous to put LMCO in them.  I stared at them all afternoon as they sat in the bag.  Nervous to use them and mess up.  I have gathered enough courage (I know what you're thinking--they are just diapers and just do it) to try them in the morning.  I will take you on this journey with me telling you all of the mishaps, first poopy one, and the ones I buy for my own stash.  :)

Still here

So, I'm still here.  I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but we are having issues with the power.  I hope to have everything ready and back up in a week!  I have some really cute things to post.  Buggy and I made goo one day, and she just loved it!  She played with it for over an hour.  :)  Miss Crazy O had her shots and is just coming out of that funk.  :(  Poor little thing.  We have to take her back to the docs for a weight check.  She's a little on the small side, but still ever so feisty.

Problems

We're having some kind of electrical issues going on.  I haven't been able to get on, and not really sure how long this will last.  I hope to be back on for good tonight.  Hubby thinks he knows how to fix it/what the problem is.   I have faith!  I just hope this isn't going to cost an arm and a leg.

Treasure Hunt

So, I'm on a treasure hunt whether I want to be or not.  I never thought my kids would be "one of those kids", but it turns out that they are.  I always thought that kids who swallowed stuff had parents that just didn't really watch them until recently.  Buggy has been carrying around this small, pink, plastic bead for the last 3 days.  I watched her like a hawk.  She just wanted to carry it around and show everyone.  She has never been the child that put things in her mouth or be very mischievous.  Yesterday I was sitting on the couch feeding Miss Crazy O when Buggy comes up and says "I don't have my bead anymore".  She was a little distraught.  I asked her where it was, or what happened to it.  She just looked me in my eyes and opened her mouth as big as she could.  My first thoughts were ...great, I'm one of those moms, but I've been watching you...is my Buggy going to be ok?.....what do I do?  She was very calm and told me that she was chewing on it and that Daddy told her not to put anything in her mouth but food.  I agreed and told her that is for safety reasons, otherwise it could be dangerous.  She became worried and started to cry.  She thought this pink bead of hers was going to be swimming in her stomach for the rest of her life.  We explained that what goes in must come out.  Daddy was a great help on this one!  :)  She just eats up whatever he says.  So, the nurse told us that we just have to make sure it passes by 3 days.  She laughed when I told her the story and said that it's normal and most kids do this.  Have any of you experienced this?  If so, I'd love to hear about it!!  I think this is so *gross*!  I'm not up for searching, but I guess I don't really have a choice in the matter this time.  Oh little Buggy...what am I going to do with you?

5 months already!

Today our Miss Crazy O is 5 months!  It seems like yesterday I was going to find out what we were having when I was admitted to the hospital.  They found that my cervix was open and took me up to L&D and I dilated from a 1 to a 5 (with no pain mind you).  It was the first time I left Buggy in the little daycare for the hospital.  I didn't even get to say good-bye to her because she would have cried.  I had to sneak out.  :(  So, they admitted me.  My hubby came and had to pick up Buggy, but because of the H1N1 bug going around I wasn't able to see her.  Children under the age of 18 couldn't come into parts where patients were.  Keep in mind all of this is happening the Tuesday before Turkey Day.  I was in the L&D side for 2 nights.  The first night my water broke---but just a small leak.  They told us that our baby was going to be born @ 21 weeks and not make it.  I was just in a loss for words and feelings at that point.  After being "stable" with no other leaks or anything they moved me to where I'd be for the next 95 days.  Yup, that's right, 95 days without going home!  I was on my back for the next 3 weeks.  There were two nurses who gave me my first bath since being in on Thanksgiving.  I remember laying there thinking....am I really here, is this really going on.  What a world of diff it was to have clean hair though!  They were great spirit lifters.  :)  Because I was on my back with feet above my head, I had to use a bedpan.  For those of you who have never seen one or used one, I think it's pretty awful.  :(  I hated calling the nurses in for it and then them having to empty it out.  Talk about embarrassing!  As time went on I got some steroids for the babies lungs.  The docs and nurses all couldn't believe I was still here.  We made it through Christmas (with the nurses sneaking Buggy in to see me for the first time as my gift from them).  Then came New Years, My Birthday, Hubbie's birthday, and Valentine's day.  I asked every day if I could go home or get a weekend pass.  As my pregnancy was progressing, the docs would give me more privileges.  It went from sitting in bed to standing and walking to the bathroom by myself, walking in my room, showering, walking to the nurses station, walking on my ward, wheeling around my floor, and wheeling around the hospital with supervision (if I had a visitor).  I grew to love my new family (nurses and docs).  You learned which ones you loved to draw your blood and talk to, and which days you'd spend more in your room.  If another lady on the floor was going home or they were c-sec-ing the baby I would get very upset and protest by staying in my room!  My new family would let me sleep in the mornings, ordered pizza one night, watched the Superbowl with me, watch Lost with me, make packets on  slow weekends, thew me a birthday party and baby shower.  :)  They were great!  I got to 36 weeks and the docs said I could go home for a week, but still be on strict bed rest, and come back to have the baby @ 37 and 1.  So, that's what I did.  It was bitter sweet going home.  Leaving all of my new friends behind but, oh, the freedom of home.  I would get to see Buggy, my mom (helping), hubby, and two fur babies.  I could eat what I wanted and not choice A or choice B.  :)  I went back the next week to have my little baby.  While in the waiting room I went into labor, I kid you not!  The whole time in this hospital and nothing, but now the day of, she wants to come out on her own.  :)  We're so blessed to have made it through everything with a healthy little girl.  I will sure never forget the time I spent, memories made, and new friends.  I am very thankful for our little miracle baby!

"Don't look at my mess"

So I was getting Buggy ready to go outside so she could play in her new beach ball sprinkler. All she had to do was put her mermaid outfit in her dress up drawer and pick up her cars she was playing with. :) I went in her room to grab her suit and towel when she told me "Mommy, don't look at my mess I made". I thought she was talking about the cars she had played with and replied with an "Okay". So I walk into her closet to get her suit and she's putting her mermaid outfit away. There were tutus, bracelets, and all kinds of things on the floor and out of the drawer. I told her that she also had to pick up those things and close the drawer. She responded with "Mommy, I told you not to look at my mess". Crack me up!!!

Hoppy Friday

I know there aren't many of you following yet, but I thought it would be great for everyone to hop around.  :)  I'm waiting for news of CPO (Chief Petty Officer) results.  My hubby is for them and my fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed!

Up late

Little Miss O has decided she doesn't want to sleep tonight.  I think she's already cutting teeth!  She has had Orajel on her teeth all day.  And tonight when I went to put it on, her little gums felt rough.  All of this already at 4 months!?!  Our Buggy didn't even get a tooth till she was 15 mos old!  So this is a totally different ball game.  And poor hubby.  He has a day packed of work things in the morning.  Maybe he'll put in his ear plugs and just ride it out.  I know I wish I could do that and he would stay up with her.

Happy Muffin Tin Monday! We've been having a rough couple of last weeks, so I thought we'd do a rainbow theme today. :) It sure made us smile. We had red watermelon, orange jello, yellow mac-n-cheese, green salad, blue gushers, purple yogurt, and brown teddy bears to dip.

Back to my life

After being gone for 3 weeks to care for my mom, I'm back. It has taken me a day to get caught up on my emails/FB/giveaways and what not. My mom has to wait another month before we know much about her cancer. :( Augh, I just feel like the cancer cells are having a party in her body and it just makes me sick to think about it.

On another note, I won a beachball sprinkler for Emily today by using my Enjoy The Ride points from Huggies! I'm so excited and can't wait to try it out. I know she's going to love it. My Zhu Zhu pet I won by liking them on FB came in while I was gone. It's so cute! If you like them on FB, they give one away almost every Wednesday. :)

Hold on...my doorbell is ringing. Heck yeah~my houseparty pack is here! :) I'm hosting a DJ Hero party July 31! Awesome. :) Today is deff a better day than yesterday.

Happy Wednesday!

Going gets tough

My mom found out that she has duodenum (small intestine) cancer. I'll be flying home with the girls to spend some good quality time with her. She'll be going to have a cancer surgery and then chemo. It's so hard to believe that this is happening. She was just here a few months ago to help with the arrival of Livy. Now this. Please keep her in your prayers and I'll keep you updated as we go through this process.

Memorial Day Cooking

We went to several picnics this last weekend. I wanted to make something that would be festive, but all I found were a bunch of berry desserts. So, I went with the next best thing....dirt! I knew the kids would love it, Emily could help me make it, and it would be yummy! Here's how you make it.

1 instant choc. pudding (4 serving size)
1 tub cool whip @ room temp
2 cups milk
20 oreo cookies
gummy worms
clear cups
First whisk the pudding and milk together for 2 min. Let it stand 5 min. While you wait, take 20 oreos and crush them up. (I had Emily help with this part. She loved using the rolling pin and crushing with her hands!) After the 5 min, add the cool whip to the pudding. Take 1/3 cup of the crushed oreos and add that to the pudding. Scoop 1/2 cup of pudding into each cup. Top with oreos and gummy worm. I made 8 servings, but could have made 10.

Crazy shopping!

So, my BFF has been clipping coupons for a little bit and spending so little for so much. I get very excited when I see how much I save with just my MVP card, and want to see how much I can save by doing what she does. Today I looked into it, and found a few blogs to help me. :) I'm so excited to see how much I can save now. I won't be able to start it till next week, but I'll keep you posted.
